What's 50 Anyway?

This past week my mom and dad celebrated 50 years of marriage.  That is a miracle in this day and age.  I'm so blessed to have an example of a marriage, although not perfect, is one that has sustained three kids, many moves, lots of challenges yet a love that has endured.

My parents live out their faith by way of example in staying together all these years.  Many of the fruits of the Spirit are evident as I watch them continue down their journey of life.  Longsuffering, faithfulness, self-control and love are just a few that stand out.  Commitment means something to Mom and Dad.  They have been committed to each other, to their children and most importantly to Christ, who is the Sustainer and Creator of life. They have believed in the God they worship and have made that evident in their 50 years together.

I'm proud of my parents, and I have been blessed to see their marriage as one that allows me to reflect on my own, knowing I too can one day celebrate 50 years.
